New Years Resolutions for Your Electrical System
It’s that time of year again–time to make new years resolutions! This year, we are not going to make the usual resolutions, like exercising more or going on a diet. Instead, here are some new years resolutions for your electrical system.
- Have ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) installed in your kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room and outdoor areas. GFCIs make sure that electricity and water do not cause a shock.
- Test your carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors once a month. This will ensure that they are in good working order.
- Do you have little ones at home? If so, it is imperative that you have tamper resistant receptacles installed on wall outlets. That way, they won’t be tempted to put their small fingers into outlets. It can save your child from an electrical shock.
- Make the decision to organize the labels in your electrical panel. Fuses and circuit breakers should be labeled by the rooms and outlets that they feed.
If you encounter an electrical problem in your Long Island home, don’t try to fix it with elbow grease and determination. Instead, turn to TFC Electric.
